Sariska National Park
Covering an area of 800 sq km area, Sariska National Park is situated at a distance of 110 km from Jaipur. Previously a personal gaming forest for the Alwar rulers, Sariska boasts of the population of tigers, leopards, porcupines, sambhar, chital, jackal, hyena and a number of migratory birds.
Ranthambore National Park
Formerly the personal hunting ground of the Jaipur rulers, Ranthambore National Park is about 11 km away from Sawai Madhopur. The park gives shelter to tigers, sambhar, chital, nilgai, mongoose and a large number of birds. The ruins of colossal Ranthambore fort and 'chhatris' make safari tour in Ranthambore National park more enthralling.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park
Also popularly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park is a true haven of the birds. Situated at 180 km from Jaipur and 60 km from Agra, the bird sanctuary is famous for inviting Siberian Crane in the winters. A rickshaw and boat ride inside the picturesque sanctuary is sure to be unforgettable in your heart.
Desert National Park
Situated near the desert city Jaisalmer, Desert National Park is a spectacular abode of birds and wild animals. Sudashri is the focal point of the park, which is the most suitable spot to view the wildlife of the park. B lackbuck, chinkara, wolf, Indian fox, desert fox, hare and desert cat are the major inhabitants of the park while G rey partridge, Blue tailed and green bee-eaters, drongos, common and bush quail and Indian rollers are mostly seen birds here.
There are some more wildlife sanctuaries in Rajasthan that are gaining popularity fast and are becoming an inevitable destination in the tourist itinerary.
