Rajasthan has four seasons: Summers, Monsoon,
Post-Monsoon and winter.
Summers in Rajasthan starts from April and lasts till June with
temperatures ranging from 32 degree C to 45 degree C. In western
Rajasthan the temperature may touch the 48 degree C mark, particularly
in May and June. At this time Mt Abu, the only hill station
in Rajasthan offers much needed relief from heat and dust of
Rajasthan plains.
The Monsoon starts from July and last till September, when temperature
marginally drops, but humidity increases. Rajasthan receives
90% of its rainfall during monsoon seasons.
The Post-monsoon period starts from October and last till November.
The maximum temperature in this season rises to 38 degree C,
and minimum gets down to 18 degree C.
The Cold Winter season in Rajasthan starts from December and
last till March. In Winters there is markable temperature variation
in Rajasthan, and it also varies regionaly across the state.
January is the coolest month in the year. The temperature might
drop to 0 degree C in some cities of Rajasthan, like Churu,
Ganganagar. There is slight precipitation in the north and northeastern
region of the state. At this time, relative humidity ranges
from 50% to 60% in the morning, and 25% to 35% in the afternoon.
