Mount Abu is like an oasis nestling amidst the desert terrain
of Rajasthan. Being the only
hill station in the state, Mount Abu enjoys a heavy footfall
of the tourists throughout the year. Mount Abu is also famous
for housing the Jain temples of Dilwara, which is a prime
destination of thousands of Jain devotees every year.
Perched at a height of 4000 ft, Mount Abu literally means "hill
of wisdom". The Aravalli range comes here full bloomed,
as the greenery around will make you forget that you are in
Rajasthan. Mount Abu is hot favourite among the holidaymakers
and honeymooners. The Nakki Lake situated just at the middle
of the hill station makes an ideal evening tour. Apart from
the Dilwara group of temples, the town is also famous for being
center of the Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual sect founded in 1937.
