Chittorgarh Fort

Spread over an area of 280 hectares, Chittorgarh Fort is an
imposing structure perched on a hilltop in Chittaurgarh. Tower
of Victory, Rana Kumbha's Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace and Rani
Padmini's Palace are the major attractions inside the fort.
Tower of Victory-Vijay Stambh
Built by Maharana Kumbha in 1440, Vijay Stambh is a 9-storyed
'Tower of Victory' to commemorate his victory over Mohammed
Khilji of Malwa. The illuminated tower in the evening offers

Kirti Stambh
Home to some of the finest Jain structures in the country; Rajasthan
is largely visited by Jain pilgrims and devotees. Kirti Stambh
in Chittaurgarh is one such destination dedicated to Adinath,
the 1st Jain Tirthankar. Built by an affluent merchant in the
12th century A.D, the tower is adorned with excellent carved
images of the Digambar saints.
Rana Kumbha Palace
Rana Kumbha was one of those Mewar kings during whose reign
Mewar prospered the most. Built in 15th century, the Rana Kumbha
Palace is the classic example of Rajput architecture and excellence.
Kumbha Shyam Temple
Kumbha Shyam Temple was built in the reign of Rana Kumbha and
houses the image of Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The Indo-Aryan style architecture of this temple makes it a
prime attraction in the city.
Kalika Mata Temple
Kalika Mata Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, an incarnation
of Goddess Durga and is rich with beautiful carvings. You may
find the scenes of ocean churning by the gods and demons adorning
the temple walls. The main entrance to the temple is guarded
by an image of Lord Surya.
Meerabai Temple
This temple is dedicated to Meerabai, the famous Jodhpur princess
and Krishna devotee. The temple is built in north Indian style
and a delicate curved tower adorns the temple beauty.
Gaumukh Kund
Located in the serene surroundings of the Aravallis, Gaumukh
Kund is a holy place and water of the deep tank is considered
to be sacred. A tour to this place offers a perfect day out

Padmini's Palace
This is the legendary palace where Rani Padmini committed jauhar
by immolating herself in a funeral pyre to avoid dishonour by
the invader Alauddin Khilji. As legend goes, obsessed with the
magnetic beauty of Rani Padmini, Alauddin Khilji attacked and
besieged Chittor. After a long and bloody war, when Chittor
saw no hope to survive, the ladies of the fort led by Rani herself
committed jauhar and Rajput men fought to the humongous army
till death.
